Analysis of Unidirectional Secondary Resonant Single Active Bridge DC–DC Converter

A compact and highly efficient unidirectional DC–DC converter is required as a battery charger for electrical vehicles, which will rapidly become widespread in the near future. The single active bridge (SAB) proposed simple high-frequency isolated converter, comprised of an H-bridge primary side, high frequency transformer, rectifying secondary diode output circuit. This paper presents novel, unidirectional, called Secondary Resonant Single Active Bridge (SR–SAB) converter. circuit topology SR–SAB resonant capacitor connected to each parallel order construct series As result, achieves higher total power factor at transformer unity voltage conversion ratio under turns ratio. Small nonsignificant overshoot values current waveforms are observed. Soft-switching commutations soft recovery achieved. operating philosophy design method presented. Output control using variation proposed. effectiveness was verified by experiments 1 kW, 48 VDC, 20 kHz laboratory prototype.
